Certified Dental Coder Specialist (CDC-S™) Examination Guidelines

To qualify for the CDC-S™ Exam you will be required to have the following :

Current ADCA Membership in good standing
High School Diploma or Equalivent
Proof of five years experience in dental billing and coding
Held CDC™ credential for two years

Exam Details:

The CDC-S™ certification exam is a timed 2 hour test and consists of 15 operative reports. The format is fill in the blank, you will be required to extrapolate correct IDC-9-CM and CPT codes from various types of Oral Surgery reports.

Once registered you may take the certification exam any day of the week at any hour you choose. You will have 6 months from the time you register to take and complete the exam. Upon completion of the examination you will immediately receive pass/fail results. You must pass the exam with a minimum score of 80% to become certified. Credentials will be mailed to those who pass the exam within 6-8 weeks of completion, please do not call the ADCA for status on your credentials.
