Is there a list of conditions that are from the ADA specifically
I know there are snow med and snow dent - but the ada has their own list of condition codes right?
    asw0929 August 18, 2022 7:02 pm
I am unsure, honestly, how to answer this. I am not familiar with anything beyond SNOMED and SNODENT. https://www.ada.org/resources/practice/dental-standards/snodent

When billing for implants, do you include the abudment placement as part of D6010, or do you bill the abudment separately when it is placed D6057?
    Admin October 28, 2014 2:13 pm
Billing for implants is the same as billing for a crown or bridge. Without seeing the providers notes if a single crown is supported by an abutment you may consider using D6058-D6094 instead.

Can a D9951 be billed at the same time as a D3330 for the same patient same tooth number?
    Admin October 10, 2012 9:16 am
D9951 would be considered inclusive in the primary procedure of D3330. It is expected that once a root canal is performed on a tooth the dentist would adjust the occlusal surface.

Can we bill for code D0470 along with code D7880 for a TMJ Appliance. Also if we are billing D09940 for an occlusal splint
    Admin July 12, 2016 1:34 pm
You may bill D0470 along with D7880 as long as the casts are for diagnostic purposes and not being used to create the device. D7880 includes splints and therefore D9940 would be considered inclusive of D7880.

What codes are other dental offices using for Halcion, Vistaril or Versed pre-meds? I work in a pediatric dental office and am trying to find a good code for that. Has anyone used D9248?Also has anyone used D9971 for enameloplasty? B/c technically odontoplasty is the same as enameloplasty?I appreciate any feedback! Thank you!
    Admin July 18, 2012 8:00 pm
If you are submitting the claim to dental you would use D9248 if it is being administered intramuscular or D9241 if it is being administered by IV. If the claim is being submitted to Medical you would use the following codes: Halcion -Currently no code Vistaril IM - J3410 Vistaril Oral- Q0177 Versed IM, IV (more)

    Does Medicaid pay for dentures
    Staylor2964 January 21, 2022 2:27 pm
Virginia will pay for dentures for adults. It does have to be pre-authorized. Most of the time they are approved.

What Dental Code would you use for a follow-up visit for a patient that wears a sleep apnea appliance?
    Admin November 18, 2010 2:55 pm
Since this is a problem focused exam and only a follow-up the appropriate code would be D0140. If this was the initial visit for the appliance the appropriate code would be D0160.

What code do we have to use for short term orthodontics? We -as a General Dentist's Office- offer Invisalign, 6MonthsSmiles and Inman Aligner. We have cases that are only for one arch, but most cases are for both arches. Not sure if it falls under Limited or Comprehensive Ortho Treatments.
    Admin April 12, 2014 1:41 pm
What you are describing would fall under limited orthodontic treatment.
