Under CDT 2027, a healing cap can be separately billed following D6010, D6011 (2nd stage surgery), or removal of an implant restoration when access to the implant body is necessary. Separate reimbursement depends on the payer's coverage policies and whether the service is considered included in another procedure. This new code is not effective until 01/01/2027.
